Family Activities Planning for PBIEC

WELLINGTON, Fla. Jan. 13--In response to requests and consistent with its mission, Equestrian Sport Productions, LLC (ESP) announced Monday its intention to develop activity programs for exhibitor families at the 2008 CN Winter Equestrian Festival at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

ESP said it hopes to offer both supervised and unsupervised programs for non-equestrian children and siblings of exhibitor families at the Equestrian Club by Tavern on the Green that adjoins the show grounds.

"We have received many inquiries and feed back on this issue," said Mark Bellissimo, Managing Partner of ESP. "If there is sufficient interest the programs would begin in early February.

"Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, high quality environment for children of exhibitors. It could provide an opportunity for children to meet other children with similar interests and to make the horse show environment more of a family experience."

The Equestrian Club, located near the spectator entrance and also accessible directly from the show grounds, includes the following facilities:
- two Har-Tru tennis courts;
- basketball court;
- general activities court with pickle ball and paddle tennis;
- putting green;
- pool and ping pong tables, and
- an open field that could be used for soccer, croquet, bocce or other sports.

A media and video game area within Tavern on the Green is also a under consideration for children during show hours.

To determine the extent of interest, ESP is looking for information from interested exhibitors on the:
- ages and sex of children;
- interest in the types of activities for both children and adults, and
- suggestions for development of activities.
